    Embark on an Adventure
Climb mountains and walk with giants

Join us in saving species and protecting radical biodiversity.

With The Mountain Rhino Foundation volunteers will have the opportunity to assist the conservation team and become immersed in the daily runnings of a reserve in Africa from monitoring and walking with rhino, to maintaining habitat and managing grasslands as well as discovering medicinal plants and the archaeology of the area. Participate in research, check camera traps, assist with image tagging and game counts and so much more.
    Your role:
This programme is built around the principle of repositioning yourself as a part of and not apart from the global ecosystem. We urgently need to see a shift in the global narrative of how we value wildlife and wild spaces. Human beings do not exist in isolation from the planet, this programme will offer an opportunity to reconnect with wild spaces and recognise their crucial role for a holistic, sustainable future.

This is an opportunity to become an active part of conserving and protecting a population of extraordinary white rhino and the critical biodiversity, habitat, flora and fauna of one of the most unknown and biodiverse places in South Africa. This includes pangolin, red duiker, leopards, African rock pythons, brown hyenas, hinge-back tortoises, Peregrine falcons, cycads, succulents and so much more.
    Is the work dangerous?
Yes, this programme involves active participation in conservation work conducted in the African wilderness, this comes with integral risks.
    Is there a potential risk?
Living and working in wild spaces and around wild animals can be dangerous. We advise that all protocols, rules and regulations are adhered to and followed. All volunteering activities will be supervised by reserve personnel. The rangers and managers of the reserve are qualified in wilderness first aid.
